I decided that I should take one more pass at photographing the train, so I headed west on 59, past Eagle, WI to County Highway S. This highway crosses the WSOR at grade, with only a crossbuck and stopsign to protect the crossing -- no gates, lights, or bells. (A whistle, of course, on the train itself, and 4008 sure has a nice horn!) This crossing was ideal for pictures, since there is a small hill on the west side of the road, with a trail.
