The Silver Chalet was built as a WP dome-dorm-buffet-lounge for the Cailfornia Zephyr. These cars typically operated right behind the baggage car. The Silver Chalet was beautifully restored as WP 831 in the mid 1980s. Too bad it had its end amputated. These are/were rare cars. Sister car Silver Lounge "lounged" in Beer Town for several years also, during the 1980s, just west of the depot.
