The Fuzzy World 3um

Does anybody know if that Madison Terminal Railway ever got started up? I think their reporting mark was like MDSN or something like that. Their website hasn't been updated in forever. It says they should have started in spring of 2011, but when I lived in Madison through the summer I never saw anything on this spur.

Now that's a 'short line'! I'm trying to understand why this railroad exists... why didn't WSOR just just handle everything?

haha that's what i'm saying! i'm not even sure if it does exist! i drove past this location nearly everyday in madison, and never saw anything along the lines of what their website shows.

Based on what's on their web site, it doesn't sound like there is anything to see. WSOR spots the cars on the track and someone else loads/unloads the materials(?) I'm thinkin' that the little switch locos on their web site are just there for looks, but the 'railroad' doesn't actually own anything?

I beleive the WSOR is only to drop the cars on the spur and the MDSN would spot them at the industries in the industrial park. I think the reason there is no activity is lack of industries needing rail service in the industrial park. There is some STB docs on the railroad that can be looked up on the STB site.
