Since I finally picked up the camera for something other than taking pics of my son, here' something (and I haven't contributed in ages). Taken from the Cat 3 race at Silver Lake yesterday. Had a little time to shoot after my race (Cat 4) so I got in a little bonding time with the camera.

Hey Isaac, welcome back! I remember "the good old days" when it was me, you, chris, ed, and then a bunch of people I haven't seen on here (atleast TWP) since I've been back. I've been wondering what's been up with you... I also took a long hiatus, I took a conductor's job with a railroad and for about a year and a half was too tired, busy, and burned out to shoot anything other than my 2 trips a year to Lake Superior. Now I'm an engineer with a gravy night job so I've gotten out more in this last year than in almost all of the previous 3 years combined, I'm just too busy now to remember to submit anything  Your camera-boom Mustang shot has stuck with me though, good job! For me, that was always the highest compliment: "Remember such-and-such shot you did YEARS ago? It was great and I can still see it in my head."

ANYWAY, (before I get doing something and forget again) I was missing the lake pretty bad today so here's one from vaca this last September.

"Now just turn and walk away, don't look back when I say 'goodbye paradise'
Days go by and life goes on, I feel I've been away too long
What I would give to be with you, days go by and life drags on
Feel I've been away too long, for much too long, yeah
And all the while that I'm away, don't let our love fade away
Don't you fade away
Now as sure as the sun is gonna shine, the day will come
Now I'm waitin' for the day, there'll be no more sayin' 'goodbye paradise'
My sweet paradise, you are the reason why it tears me up inside
And I break down and cry, didn't wanna say 'goodbye paradise'
I'm comin' home to you tonight, comin' home to you tonight
So hold on tight, tonight I'm on my way back home to paradise"

Thanks Deke! Still have the camera boom, don't have the Mustang though. I'll have another eventually, but right now we're going with a tighter budget so my wife can enjoy working part-time and spend more time with our young son and we can save for his college education. Much better long-term plan than a fast car :) But like you, it's sometimes best to put the camera down for a bit. It's kinda like riding a bike though - pick it back up and off you go! But yeah, hear you on the busy part of life!

Love that beach shot of yours. I had to look up where Croftville specifically is....quite the ways up there. Must make a note to go through there sometime. We've talked about hitting Isle Royale in the future too...Once the little guy is old enough to go with.

Stretching the Olympus 3 locos wide was not easy with the limited depth.
