surprise surprise the cause is due to deteriorated rail on a wsor line :roffle:

:censor: Because its TRAINFEST WEEKEND - and most of the diligent posters were likely, like me, at State Fair Park getting everything set for the ~ 20K paid visitors over 2 days of the show :!:

You guys were at TrainFest at 3:30 AM on Friday morning? :lol:

Since the article says this derailment happened "west of Germantown", I'm assuming it was on the line that is waiting for a ribbon rail upgrade. Hopefully the new ribbon rail project will help WSOR spend less time putting the train back on the tracks and more time delivering freight.
