Words really aren't needed...it was epic:

I have many more to process and sort through, and I'm sure I wasn't the only Fuzzy-ite there. We even had a group shot and Flickr user group shot.

I'm afraid you are going to have to use some words to tell us where and when this was so we can feel bad that we weren't there!

It was at IRM yesterday evening after the public at large went home. It was arranged on the down low by a few guys who are IRM staff and/or UP employees. I wasn't going to hang around, but I got invited for a ride and the subsequent photo shoot by one of the guys who knows I'm a student of CNW history, so I couldn't say no.

It was Diesel Days after all

They were trying for an on-duty UP run-by this afternoon during the parade, as part of the show, so if that happened there should be some good photos from this afternoon too.

I've found that if an event is going on at IRM that has any significance to you personally, you shouldn't miss it even if it conflicts with something else. Throughout the afternoon, I was afforded the opportunity to look in/at all 5 units up close, shoot as many photos as I desired and get a ride. In this case, because of my historical interest in CNW, I wouldn't miss the photo shoot for the world once I was told about it.

The staff I had contact with this year were top notch, and I will be writing a letter expressing this to the IRM board along with inquiring about volunteering there if the opportunity is right. Their operation goes way beyond appeasing the foamer crowd, and the pride that the staff have in what they do is very evident.

This photo shoot is probably a once-in-a-lifetime deal, even if all the units are available in the future, because each event that IRM hosts is a little different.

It'd be nice if *someday* that same photo could be recreated with 1385 to the right of #411</end dream sequence>

Just recovered from that heart attack which the photo gave me.

I wish I could've made it, but I had other obligations. The death of my Grandfather kinda took priority :(
