Just read in the Post Crescent that there will be two Sonic's opening in the Fox Valley. One over on the former Krispy Kreme site and one across the street from the new A&W on Calumet St.

Under construction, they were laying the bricks for its outside veneer today.

The one on the east side of Appleton on Calumet opened a few months ago. Had a shake, pretty good.

The two times we happened to be in that area we tried to stop in. I say tried, because the line to get in went about 40 cars deep, 2 across in a neighboring parking lot. Sorry, but no 'fast food' is worth that kind of wait. To me anyway...not even Cranky Pat's or TJs!

Yeah, I hear ya, the pent-up demand will go away soon enough! :swg:

The key is to go at a time when other people don't want to. I went there around 2 or 3pm on a weekend and most of the drive-in stalls were open.

Wow...is Sonic really craved that much back there? We have them all over the place out here. I eat there once in awhile, but it doesn't call to me. I do enjoy their commercials, though.

Hey Bro!

I think its more the novelty of it at this point. We've seen the commercials for years, but there's never been any around.

That's what I think this whole craze comes down to. While their food isn't too bad, there are better locally owned fast food restaurants in Appleton.

I had tried it for the 1st time tonight & i was satisfied with it. i had the combo 2 with onion rings & a vanilla shake to top it off. next time im near by the limeades looked good so i'm gonna get one & the best part was all the things i had was under 10 bucks.

According to the Oshkosh Northwestern (Story!) the Oshkosh Sonic will open on Monday at 6 AM. Sadly I can't go...I'll be south for the day. 8-)
