If you place a wager on whether a train will derail... is that considered off-track betting?

The Waukesha County Gandy Dancers Model Railroad Club will be having an open house on Sun Nov 19 from 12-4 pm. The Waukesha Christmas Parade will follow at 4 pm.

Next are open houses on Fri Nov 24 from 1-4 pm, and Sat Nov 25 from 3-6 pm, to coordinate with other events in the downtown area. Gives the guys a place to go while the wives are out shopping.8-)

Club is located at 831 N. Grand Ave, Waukesha WI. Right in the heart of downtown, by the 5-point intersection. Signs will point to the stairs down. If you need the elevator to go down, call 262-719-7777, and a club member will be available to assist you. Refreshments should be available. Come on down.

Pictures of our HO scale layout as seen at Trainfest are at the club website in my signature.

More open houses coming up in December.

Much work has taken place since Trainfest, with much more to do.

One of these times I'll make it there, but not today - all booked up already :(

There is the 16th, and more in January, in conjunction with the Waukesha Janboree. 8-) Most of the open houses are tied into other events in the downtown area, so there is other stuff to do, for wives, kids, etc. Cooney's only half-hour away, half the time it takes me to get there.

I used to know Waukesha well, but I don't get into downtown much anymore. Where's the best place to park down there? I'm gonna try to get the fam to come out on a little trip (or at least me and the kids hopefully) :)

Anywhere you can find a spot. The city parking garage is across South St. from our building, if worse comes to worse. Club members park inside the building's garage, to leave more spots available on the street.

OK thanks! I've got to pick up a part from Saturn in the morning, so I'll scope the area when I go through. I mentioned it to the wife. She didn't say no, but she didn't say yes either (she's not nearly as passionate about trains as I am  ).

Hmmm... Looks like I might have to plan a nice trip tomorrow, especially since I found out I won't have to do any actual work tomorrow... Maybe a nice little side trip to Horicon would be in the works...:?:

Well, it was nice to meet both Mike and Shawn! Mike's 87-car train was quite the sight, and the food wasn't too bad either! :food: Though I think the chili was gone by the time I was hungry enough to go looking for food... :)

I'm sure Mike will have some nice pictures, like the one of my camera... or the reflection off my head...

That is quite the neat layout. Definitely worth the trip to meet some fellow 3um goers :D

Next time I might leave the kids at home and bring my camera and go nuts :woohoo:

More open houses.

Friday Jan 19 4-9 pm
Saturday Jan 20 10 am - 8 pm
Sunday Jan 21 10 am - 6 pm

In conjunction with the Waukesha Janboree. Should have some other layouts in the other room on Saturday.

Come on down. I might need some relief during the long days. 8-)
